The invention relates to a device for eliminating slag and ash from the combustion chamber of a pulverised-coal furnace, which ensures complete reliability of operation and at the same time permits afterburning of the combustible particles in the slag. The solution according to the invention is that a vortex chamber (2) for flue gases and air fitted with nozzles is located at the exit of the furnace hopper (1) of the boiler plant. A fixed grate (4) is fastened under the nozzles (18) at the exit of the vortex chamber (2); under this, trapezoidal sheets of metal (42) are located at the side walls of the end of the hopper, and an inclined plate on the face of the hopper. In addition, water nozzles (25) are installed above the rows of nozzles (18) at the end walls (2'') of the vortex chamber. The lower end of the vortex chamber (2) is connected to a sealing casing (29), which in turn is connected in a gas-tight manner to the casing (3), of the chain conveyor (40), situated below it by means sliding end seals and flank seals (19 and 20) over which water flows.
